Rajon Rondo might be my favorite player to watch. He can go off for a triple double on any given night – tonight vs Chicago 32 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds. He definately has some sub-par games from a numbers perspective but he runs the Celtics offense every single night and controls the tempo of the entire game. It does seem strange for a guy who puts up such impressive triple-doubles that he has the stats he does so far this season (only averaging 4.6 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game). But, Rondo doesn’t strike me as the type of player who cares if he scores or gets a single rebound or assist. As long as he’s running the team the way he wants to and helping his team be in a position to win the game I’m sure he’s quite happy. It’s just nice to see a point-guard interested in winning and distributing the ball to his scorers in position.
